Thanks to the ability to convert heat into electricity, a compact stove becomes a convenient source of electricity for mobile phones, cooling fans during picnics.
Every day, people use firewood to burn millions of stoves around the world to serve many purposes such as cooking, heating…. The heat from stoves is a huge source of energy, but it is almost untapped. BioLite, an American company, came up with the idea of building a stove capable of generating electricity from the heat of the stove.
Camp Stove, the name for a new metal stove, has a cylindrical shape. BioLite's website said that the oven has a mass of 935 g, a height of 21 cm and a diameter of 12 cm. A screen surrounds the oven to prevent burns from touching the oven. The air is guided through the tiny holes in the metal tube. CampStove's three pillars are foldable. A heat-to-electric transformer is mounted right next to it. Generator external USB port. Users can plug fans, bulbs, cell phones, tablets and many other devices into the USB port to get power.
BioLite's stove became extremely useful in super typhoon Sandy in the US, where 6 million people have to live in a scene without electricity due to the storm. Thanks to CampStove, some people can still cook and use electrical equipment.
“We have been studying CampStove for many years, helping people who go on trips or travel without having to carry firewood, gas or other forms of fuel. Since CampStove only burns fuelwood, corn residue and other biomass instead of gas, it is a convenient and environmentally friendly material, ”said Jonathan Cedar, CEO of BioLite.
Previous studies showed that about half of the world's population is using stoves on a daily basis. Poisonous smoke from the stove is the culprit that causes about two million people to die prematurely each year and accelerate global warming.
CampStove price in the US is 129 USD. Products will appear in other markets in the near future.
